Water Taxi Beach at Sundown

Screw The Hamptons and The Jersey Shore…check out these real New York City beaches instead.

1. Water Taxi Beach - South Street Seaport - The newest edition to the Water Taxi Beach locations, this beach is the real deal.  Straight from the press release…“Food and beverages(i.e Booze!) will be available at a fish shack that will serve fish and chips, steamers, clams, and daily specials. Recreational opportunities will include a nine-hole miniature golf course, Ping-Pong tables and Skee-Ball.” Grab a drink, hit the sand starting Memorial Day.

2. Pier 66/64 - Chelsea - Home of the Frying Pan, (the floating bar/restaurant better known for being a docked boat) this NYC “beach” has a lawn for laying out and is in close proximity to a booze drink.

3. Water Taxi Beach - Long Island City/Queens Waterfront - The first real beach in New York City, this was the brainchild of NYC Water Taxi to drum up business in and around the city during the slow summer months…genius! Get your drink on, enjoy the view and sink your feet into the sand.

4.  Chelsea Piers Sundeck - Chelsea - Although you must be a member of the club to enjoy the sundeck you can get day passes by calling.  The Chelsea Brewing Company is right inside Chelsea Piers so you can get your booze on in between the clouds.

5. Hudson River Park Pier 45 - West Village/Waterfront - Great outdoor space for soaking up the sun and people watching. I reccommend brown-bagging the booze because its a no-no here.
