2U getting the crowd riled up!

Stephen, Ian, Stephanie and I all headed up to the Gael Pub for the 2U gig on Friday night 12/12 after pre-gaming at Town Tavern for Free Beer Friday with the MNL crew. In case you could not figure it out, 2U is an excellent U2 tribute band. They played two sets and more than delievered for the ten dollar cover we paid to get in, especially if you got a free drink ticket at the door like I did. Although it pained me to pay $5.50 for a light beer bottle after that. But I kept doing it because by the beginning of the second set I was pretty charged up and ready to hit the front of the room amd sing along with the rest of the crazies. I swear there were a few in particular who may have thought it was the real U2 the way they were getting into it!  But 2U does a great job sounding like U2, even adding on many of the alternate endings Bono has been known to do for certain songs. My favorites, per usual, were “Pride”, “Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For”, “elevation, and many more. Will you mistake these guys for U2? No. But are they a lot of fun and worth the small price to pay for hearing great rendtions of U2 classics?  I say yes!
