First Annual Brooklyn Beer Experiment :: Sun 6/7/09
Posted by: bob | May 13th, 2009
So maybe Brewmaster Beau Baden, of Allentown and Bethlehem Brew, won't be there, but Brooklyn brewmasters will
OK, so I found out about this beautiful Brooklyn beer brewhaha through MeetNowLive.com user Stephen, who will be particpating in this local Brooklyn brewmasters’ battle (ok, enough with the alliteration).
The rules are, there are no rules, except that you can’t actually make beer for money - you can only make it because you like to drink it and share your own brew with others. If you were asking what there was to eat at this fine competition, have no fear. There is also a cook-off among amateur chefs - and all of the food must contain - you guessed it - beer!! $18 gets you a beer on the house from the bar and all the sampling you want.
The audience along with celebrity judges will determine the winners. Come out, get drunk (even off the food!), and support your local Brooklyn brewmasters, especially Stephen! This all goes down (no pun intended - well, maybe it was) at Bell House in Brooklyn on Sunday, June 7, from 1-5PM. Get tickets ahead of time!

Unfortunately it is already too late to partake in the event, but not too late to go and enjoy! And ask details about next year’s!

Progress!
My entry (a Brooklyn backyard style) will finish primary soon.
Brew day was a marathon; all grain brewing is quite a challenging project. It would have helped to have done it before. A proper mash/lauter tun would have been useful as well. Live and learn.
Fingers crossed it pays off!
Apropos of nothing, is anybody getting rid of a real mash/lauter tun?
